This is a drawing of a photograph of Harriet Tubman. The artist was struck by Harriet's demeanor which seems to demonstrate the great acting skills that enabled her to elude capture on her trips lead about 300 enslaved people to freedom, as while acting as a spy for the Union Army, and while serving as the first woman to lead male troops in the U.S. Military.
